Score Outdoor has suffered as ad revenues dry up, but could still be an attractive acquisition for other outdoor ad groups, such as Maiden, JC Decaux and Clear Channel.
The company has sites in Scotland, as well as Manchester and Birmingham. According to Business a.m., Score Outdoor has denied it is in acquisition talks, but other outdoor companies have confirmed that they are in discussions.
This month, Scottish Radio Holdings acquired a 76% stake in Radio Ireland, which owns Ireland's only independent national radio station Today FM. The deal gave it outright ownership of the company.
It also acquired Southampton's Wave 105FM from Kelvin MacKenzie's The Wireless Group for £18m in November.
