The role sees his work across all of the NMSI venues, including the Science Museum sites in London and Swindon, the National Railway Museum in York and the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Owen will take on his new role from January 2011 for 12 months, as cover for current events manager (North), Rachel Fox-Crewes, who will be on maternity leave.

"It has been a superb year all round, with all sites achieving World Class Service accreditation and the National Railway Museum scooping the Gold accolade at two major regional industry awards," said Owen.
