The company, which has appointed Arnold Interactive to develop the UK site and its digital marketing, expects to launch the new site next year.
"As the world's fastest-growing brand, online activities will form a key part of our communications strategy. Samsung has a vast range of products, from mobile phones to notebooks, from side by side refrigerators to LCD TVs, giving us a huge range of customers to communicate with," Eamon Collins, head of marketing communications at Samsung, said.
He added that the key was for the brand not to focus solely on product, but to also address the interests of its audience. "We are looking to tailor our web presence to meet the diverse needs of our customers and endeavour to provide meaningful content on how Samsung best interacts with them and their lives today."
Arnold Interactive won the appointment after a pitch process and will work with Samsung's advertising agency Cheil Communications.
