Sainsbury's says goodbye to barbecues and begins stocking its shelves with Christmas goods

The seaonsal aisles, which have been filled with barbecue and garden items throughout the summer, are now changing to have a Christmas focus. Stores will be altered this week to house the Christmas themed items.

A spokeswoman for Sainsbury's said that the products were being introduced as early as the start of September in order to assist its customers with spreading the cost of Christmas.

Last week the supermarket chain announced it was carrying out its biggest ever drive for seasonal jobs in order to meet the high demand from shoppers over the Christmas and New Year period. Up to 20,000 seasonal jobs will be created, with the retailer looking to retain 1,000 in permanent positions.
