Royal Mail relaunches DM site for SME marketing

LONDON – Royal Mail has relaunched its website, Direct Mail Online to allow small businesses to plan, design and send promotional mail to customers.

In response to customer feedback, Royal Mail has upgraded the to include several new sections, including one that explains how a mailing promotion can help small businesses generate more sales and a new demo that shows users how they can best use mail to send information to customers.

The revamped site has a new modular approach allowing users to design the creative themselves and use the website for planning layout and printing.

Richard Roche, head of business development at Royal Mail, said: "Entrepreneurs often find they need to wear a number of hats as they're constantly trying to juggle a variety of different things, ranging from accountancy to marketing to sales.

"They are time-poor individuals who tend to develop their direct mail in-house and are often looking for new ideas or ways to improve their communications. DM Online allows small businesses to produce creative and professional direct mail, quickly and efficiently."

According to research from DMIS, companies undertaking customer communication by mail can look to achieve, on average, a mailing response of 10.6%.
