Royal Mail delivers best quality of service performance

LONDON - Royal Mail has achieved its best annual quality of service to date, by meeting 11 out of its 12 targets.

In 2006 it beat all of its bulk business mail targets, with 93.2% of first class business deliveries arriving on time compared with its 91% target.

It also delivered 99.6% of items correctly, compared with its target of 99.5%.

The target it missed required it to deliver at least 91.5% of first class mail on time in 118 postcode areas.

Royal Mail's performance is measured by market research firm Research International.
