Rocky promo runs on London Underground digital outdoor

LONDON - 20th Century Fox will use CBS Outdoor's expanding digital screen network on the London Underground to promote the return of the Rocky film franchise, 'Rocky Balboa', which is winning rave reviews for star Sylvester Stallone.

The campaign, which mimics the iconic film sequence of Stallone reprising his run up the steps of Philadelphia's Museum of Art, will now be transferred to the escalators at Euston, Paddington, Charing Cross and Tottenham Court Road Tube stations.

The creative consists of 11 separate panel executions and gives the impression that the boxing legend is running up the escalators alongside London' commuters.

The promotion, booked through outdoor specialist Gen, will continue until January 14, with the film released in the UK on January 19.

Nick Maddison, founding partner at Gen, said: "For a brand that is essentially about moving image this medium is going to be an important platform going forward.

"Using a content specialist for this platform is essential, and Grand Visual has provided the knowledge and expertise to create teasers that make the best use of this innovative medium."
