It won the account after a shootout against MindShare, Initiative and ZenithOptimedia. The brief will include work covering the promotion of Best, Reveal and Real People magazines.
The PHD Group agency adds ACP-NatMag to a series of recent wins, which include the £10m brief for the Co-op Group, the £1.5m account for the Blockbuster Video-owned Gamestation stores and the £5m consolidated piece of business for the GCap Media radio group.
ACP-NatMag is also engaged in a creative review, and is believed to have invited several advertising agencies to pitch for the account, although incumbent agency Clemmow Hornby Inge is tipped to retain the business.
The reviews are reported to have taken place following the arrival of Andrew Kirkland as group publishing director at ACP-NatMag.
During 2005, the publisher spent £5m on media to support Reveal and less than £1m on Best. The marketing budget on Real People is believed to be £6m.
ACP-NatMag confirmed that the media account had been awarded to Rocket.
