Both sites have created co-branded microsites to offer each other's content to their users: Golf365 has set up a Golf Breaks navigational bar on the site's homepage linking to a that carries content from the Golfbreaks site.
Golfbreaks will feed in top holiday offers and competitions alongside information about golf tours, golf tuition, corporate days, and a quick search facility for venue names. Golf365 users clicking on any of these links for more information will then be taken into the Golfbreaks site for the full feature.
In return, Golfbreaks is hosting a Golfing News page from its homepage, with all editorial content provided by . The news feeds are updated daily by Golf365 and cover main editorial features and analysis, tournament reports and leader board updates. Similarly, users clicking through for more information will be directed to the full articles to read on Golf365's site.
Both sites are also undertaking wider marketing for the new pages, incorporating the usual advertising mix of banners and buttons across RDM's network of sports sites, and promotion in Golfbreaks' email newsletter which goes out to 65,000 golf fans weekly.
Elizabeth Ryan, marketing manager for Rivals Digital Media, said: "This is a traffic-driving incentive for both Golf365 and Golfbreaks, which simultaneously offers each site's user base an additional and complementary mix of content targeted specially to match all areas of their golfing interests."
