
With , easyJet and bmi have both rolled out ads telling consumers they would be taking a risk booking with BA.
The easyJet ad, by Publicis, carries the line "Why risk BA?", and offers free speedy boarding for BA Gold Card customers on strike days. It adds: "We still have half a million seats available for travel over the planned BA strike days, but seats sell out quickly so book now."
Meanwhile, Lufthansa-owned carrier bmi has launched a print and digital campaign showing a departures board, with customers for a list of fictional BA flights such as "BA147A" advised to "Go home".
Copy in the ad states: "As the fresh strike looms, the choice is clear: risk staying put or fly with bmi."
The airline will also offer BA Gold and Silver Executive Club members access to bmi lounges.
The first industrial action by BA cabin crew will take place from 18 to 22 May, followed by subsequent strikes on 24 to 28 May, 30 May to 3 June, and 5 to 9 June inclusive.
Unite is also intending to hold a further industrial action ballot of BA cabin crew over what it claims to be a "witch-hunt" by management following the previous industrial action in March.
