Rigby leaves Lowe for BHO FCB managing director role

LONDON - Jonathan Rigby is understood to be quitting his job as head of account management at Lowe to join fellow Interpublic-owned agency Banks Hoggins O'Shea FCB, where he will take the role of managing director.

He will step into the shoes of Sven Olsen, who is to be promoted to a role at Foote Cone & Belding. Banks Hoggins O'Shea refused to confirm Rigby's appointment and a spokesperson said that no final decision had been made.

The changes come amid a restructure of senior management at Banks Hoggins O'Shea FCB, which saw the resignation of the existing management team of managing partners Paul Houlding and Steve Hastings and joint creative directors Dave Alexander and Rob Fletcher, who plan to launch a new agency.

The shake-up has been overseen by John Banks, chairman and chief executive of Banks Hoggins O'Shea. He was not available for comment at the time of writing.

Rigby was new-business director at Lowe for two years before being promoted to head of account management at the beginning of last year. During his tenure as head of new business, Lowe won clients including Orange and Sure for Men. He joined the agency in May 2000 from WCRS, where he was a senior account manager.

He had been at WCRS for eight years on joining Lowe, apart from a two-year stint at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.

Lowe has parted company with a number of staff in the past few months. Most recently, senior copywriter James Sinclair left to become creative partner at Ogilvy & Mather, working on its 拢95m Ford account.

His departure came just a month after joint creative director Tony Barry left to become a senior writer at Clemmow Hornby Inge.
