
The appointment means Davidson-Houston has responsibility for all Channel 4's online propositions and commissioning and follows the decision to combine all commissioning and creative activities into one cross platform decision.
Davidson-Houston will report to acting chief creative officer Julian Bellamy and will be charged with developing the strategic and creative vision of Channel 4 online.
In addition to his current responsibility for Channel 4 online products, cross-platform commissioning, the investment fund 4iP and education will now report to Davidson-Houston in his new role, which he starts today.
Davidson-Houston has worked at Channel 4 since 2007 and was responsible for the relaunch of Channel4.com and on demand service 4oD.
Prior to joining Channel 4 he worked as a product manager and then business manager at Microsoft.
