Reveal magazine puts £3m behind new ad campaign

LONDON - ACP-Natmag is promoting its weekly celebrity magazine Reveal with a £3m TV advertising campaign, coinciding with the title's third birthday.

The campaign, which launches on Monday, features a newsagent who wants to be a clairvoyant and tries to read the mind of one of his regular customers. He fails completely and tells the customer, after she has already picked up a copy of Reveal, "You want celebrity gossip, fashion, real-life stories… you want Reveal magazine!"

The creative was by in-house team You, Me and Victor, with media planning and buying handled by PHD Rocket.

Colin Morrison, CEO at ACP-Natmag, said: "It is almost three years since the launch of Reveal -- and of ACP-Natmag Magazines. This promotional campaign is part of ambitious plans for Reveal."

Zoe Harris, marketing director at ACP-Natmag, said: "We felt that as we had such a clear vision of what we needed from the campaign, we did not need the full services of a traditional creative agency."

Reveal, which launched in 2004, had an average circulation of 345,508 during the second half of 2006.

It competes with titles including News Magazines' Love It!, with a circulation of 407,914, IPC's Now on 540,132, and Emap's Closer on 614,141.

ACP-Natmag also publishes two other women's weeklies - Best and Real People.
