REM to get their own channel on HomeChoice to support 2005 tour

LONDON - REM has teamed up with broadband TV platform HomeChoice to launch a video-on-demand TV channel dedicated to the US rock band.

The channel, which has been built and designed by Video Networks the owner of HomeChoice, will go live this week. It has been designed to support the band's 2005 UK Tour, which culminates on July 9 with a live performance in Hyde Park.

The channel's offerings include an interactive videography, which will showcase each of REM's albums, including some of their most successful -- 'Green', 'Out of Time' and 'Automatic for the People'.

HomeChoice viewers will select an album cover using their remote control, and will then be given access to all the associated music videos, live clips and documentary footage.

In addition, the channel will also feature four competitions and a ringtone service. Subscribers to the HomeChoice music package will be given exclusive access to the channel for the full 16 weeks of its life.
