Reebok has hired Quantum Media to handle its internet media buying
and e-commerce strategy.
The sportswear manufacturer wants Quantum to run its general online
buying, plan and buy support for its online store and develop
partnerships with other companies online to raise awareness of Reebok's
products.
Zentropy will continue to work with Reebok on developing its online
design, as it has for more than two years.
Quantum has also been hired by Freeserve to work on its internet media
buying. It will work closely with M&C Saatchi on integrating its online
approach with the internet service provider's above-the-line
advertising.
The appointments are a good start to the year for Quantum, which last
week lost its managing director, Marc Girling, who returned to PHD
Compass.
Karen Mayer, Quantum's commercial director, is also looking to work more
closely with other agencies in providing interactive media planning and
buying services. Quantum cites the proposed working relationship with
M&C Saatchi as an example. The ad agency has licensed some of its
software solutions.
Steve Booth, the chief executive at BLM Media, which owns Quantum, said:
"Quantum is offering services to other agencies. It is keener to work
alongside other agencies as partners. It has a deep technology resource
that it is keen to share."
