The incident led to a media storm that cost , controller of BBC One.
While profits fell, group revenues were up 21.5% to £120.6m, from £99.3m.

ITV and BBC commission pauses ended November 8 2007 and March 4 2008 respectively.
RDF is to make 100 episodes of 'Way to Blue', a major pre-school children's series for the BBC, commissioned by CBeebies for broadcast in 2009.
David Frank, chief executive of RDF, said: "2007 was a turbulent year for the group but we are confident that we have emerged stronger and well prepared for growth.
"RDF's content divisions have won important new commissions and re-commissions and our rights division is actively representing more content in more genres, driven in part by the success of RDF USA in the second half of last year.
"Trading in the current year is in line with market expectations."
