The move is a further blow to RDF, whose share price has plummeted since news of the incident emerged. Its share price stood at 260p before the debacle, it fell to 230p yesterday, and this morning was trading at 189p, an 18% drop.
An inquiry is being launched to investigate the incident, which centres on a promotional trailer shown at the press launch for the forthcoming documentary 'A Year with the Queen'.
It appeared to show the monarch storming out of a photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz, when in fact she was walking in. RDF, producer of Channel 4's 'Faking It', has since admitted that it edited the material in the wrong order.
ITV has now moved to distance itself from RDF by stating it will not commission any shows from the company until the enquiry has finished, which is likely to be September.
RDF said ITV work accounts for about 11% of its income, while the BBC accounts for a further 10%.
RDF produces several primetime shows for ITV, including 'Dickinson's Real Deal', 'Holiday Showdown' and 'Ladette to Lady'.
David Frank, chief executive of RDF Media, said: "RDF has been informed by ITV that no new programmes will be commissioned before and subject to the publication of the independent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the BBC's autumn press launch."
The independent production company is now waiting to see whether it has also lost the trust of Channel 4, for which it produces 'Wife Swap', 'Location, Location, Location', 'Late Night Poker', 'Rock School', 'Scrapheap Challenge' and 'Shipwrecked'.
