Under the agreement, Rapiscan will provide more than 2,000 pieces of equipment from handheld and walk-through metal detectors to portable explosive trace detection systems, vehicle inspection systems and X-Ray equipment.
The systems will play a crucial role in keeping athletes, visitors, and employees safe during the Games.

The firm has a history of supplying major sports events, having worked on the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010, the FIFA World Cup in South Africa 2010 and the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games 2006 amongst others.
