Rapier integrated campaign promotes Telewest offer

LONDON - Rapier is to launch an intergrated campaign for cable firm Telewest using its animated Elly West character.

The campaign promotes Telewest's one-price-for-all-calls telephone service, which allows customers to buy bundles of minutes to use across landlines, international calls and mobiles.

The campaign includes national direct mail, six- and 48-sheet posters, which go live this week. Press activity will follow with inserts in titles including the News of the World and The Sun.

The 'Talk Anywhere' creative uses the line "clear, any call, any price" and features the Telewest character Elly West, which Rapier first used in November 2005.

The campaign launches as ntl:Telewest confirms its 拢962m deal to buy Virgin Mobile, creating one of the UK's largest broadcast and telecommunications companies and enabling it to offer customers a 'quadruple-play' - TV, internet, fixed and mobile - service.

In May, NTL named two senior members of the Virgin management team, James Kydd and Ashley Stockwell, as its top marketers to launch the newly merged business under the Virgin brand.

The three brands will continue to operate under separate identities until early 2007, when the company will begin marketing under the Virgin brand.
