Smart TV, a 68-page guide, will offer information on how specific television programmes can be used to improve children's knowledge of particular subjects.
The guide will be produced three times a year to coincide with the start of each school term. It has a cover price of £4.99, with the first issue available on April 17.
BBC Magazines has planned that the title will be subscription-based but several thousand copies will be available on newsstands. The launch has been marketed through direct mail to 30,000 teachers across the UK.
Smart TV, which will carry advertising, will highlight programmes across multichannel television that will supplement school learning. It caters for ages five to 16 and combines details on programmes with interviews and behind-the-scenes editorial on content.
The title groups TV programmes by subject areas such as English, geography and music, and for each programme points out links to the national curriculum.
