There will be seven extra pages of features including a new At Home section. This will include entertainment releases, a page for celebrity columnist Alan Titchmarsh and a regular food page,, which will link back to the week's TV and radio programmes.
The price hike is expected make the Radio Times an extra £1.63m a year, on top of the £48.88m it already makes from its current 90p cover price.
The cover redesign and extra pagination mark the final stage in a series of changes made in 2004 in response to an extensive reader research project.
These have included an "RT recommends" spread for a look at the week's best programmes, new digital pages and a makeover of the listings pages.
Marcus Arthur, publishing director of Radio Times, said: "Radio Times has just got bigger and better and we're confident we've now got a product that meets all our readers needs yet exceeds their expectations."
The new-look issue goes on sale on December 24 2004.
