The event, which is a networking and discussion forum for the UK radio industry, was previously held at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays. The Radio Academy told Event it is expecting an attendance of at least 650.
Festival organisers have announced the addition of a new 'how to' room, in partnership with the BBC Academy and Creative Skillset. The Radio Academy said events held here will aim to give "a year’s worth of training in a day", with discussions on social media, how to make the most of talent on and off air and how to create powerful messages.
BBC Radio 4 presenter John Humphrys will lead a Radio Festival masterclass with a discussion on the art of the interview.
Paul Robinson, chief executive of The Radio Academy, said: "This year’s Radio Festival is fresh, innovative and will have real impact - it will be one of the strongest yet.
"We’re focusing on high profile speakers, external points of view and sessions that delegates will find of practical value when they return to their jobs. It’s truly a must attend event for anyone in radio."
