The agency has created a poster campaign featuring real-life gay couple Ron and Roger, who have registered for the Greater London Authority's London Partnership Scheme, part of an initiative that aims to recognise the partnership status of gay couples.
The poster features two shots of Ron and Roger. The first shows a rather dour-looking couple at home wearing white shirts and grey slacks. The second picture, captioned "Ron & Roger at Mardi Gras", still has the same dour expressions, but their slacks and shirts have been replaced by cowboy outfits, and Roger wears chaps. They both carry small Gay Pride rainbow flags.
The ad carries the current BT strapline: "More connections. More possibilities."
BT is sponsoring a world dance tent at Mardi Gras, which is held at Hackney Marsh on July 6, following the Pride parade that runs from Hyde Park through central London.
Caroline Waters, director of employment policy at BT, said: "The imaginative development of the Ron and Roger ad really embodies the fun atmosphere of this fabulous event and BT's contribution to connecting people, whoever and wherever they are."
This is the second time Quiet Storm has worked for BT. The agency, headed by creative director Trevor Robinson, also worked on BT's Ethnic Multicultural Media Awards advertising.
