Queen to redesign Royal Family website

LONDON - The Royal Family has brought in Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web, to relaunch the British Monarchy's official website.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph the Queen has taken a 'hands on' approach to the site's redesign and wants it to be more user-friendly and accessible. The new site will launch on February 12.

One of the new features to be introduced is a tie-in with Google. The Royal diary has been integrated with Google Maps so that it is possible to view future and past visits to a particular place.

There will also be links to the , which was launched 14 months ago. There will also be a gallery on the site containing photos of the Queen from previous years.
