The Maggies are a national poll aimed at promoting the magazine business.
The awards cover a range of categories with 30 nominated titles and its judges included radio presenter Toby Anstis and Dancing on Ice star Linda Lusardi.
The judging panel shortlisted the awards which were then left to the public to vote on via a website.
The winners were as follows:
Overall Winner - Q (April 2009)
Business & General Interest Winner - Geographical (January 2009)
Celebrity & Entertainment Winner - Q (April 2009)
Fashion Winner - Love (February 2009)
Lifestyle Winner - Clash (April 2009)
Specialist & Hobbies Winner - BBC History (November 2008)
Sports & Men's Winner - Huck (June 2009)
Commenting on the winning entry, the judges said: "Lily Allen was not a core artist for the Q readership and also had heavy media coverage at the time. So the solution - adding a few panthers and a creative photo shoot - produced a truly memorable result which is our favourite cover of the year!"
The Maggies are an initiative of iSubscribe, the newspaper and magazine subscription site.
