LONDON (Brand Republic) – Publicis USA has been appointed to handle the advertising account for the 2002 Winter Olympics by the Salt Lake Organising Committee.
The campaign, which will also include direct and promotional activity, kicks off with a TV campaign on NBC during the summer Olympics currently underway in Sydney.
Committee managing director Scott Givens said, “We chose Publicis because of its creative excellence and its history of exceptional service.” He added he was impressed with the agency’s reputation in sports and events marketing.
The deal comes three years after Publicis’ direct mail arm Dialog teamed up with Landor Associates to create the 2002 emblem and mascots for the 2002 games.
