Publicis realigns UK media and buys BBH Starcom stake

LONDON - Publicis is overhauling two of its UK media brands after finally concluding the acquisition of Bartle Bogle Hegarty's stake in Starcom Motive this week.

Publicis now wholly owns Starcom Motive and is positioning it together with

MediaVest, which becomes Starcom MediaVest. Iain Jacob, currently the managing director of Starcom Motive, moves over to become the chief executive of Starcom MediaVest. Peter Edwards, Starcom Motive's business director, fills Jacob's old role.

Jim Marshall becomes the chairman of the UK group of companies and Peter Wallace the financial director. The UK businesses will both report to Marshall who reports directly to Mark Cranmer, the chief executive of Starcom Media-Vest EMEA.

David Connolly becomes the vice-chairman of Starcom Motive and Chris Locke is promoted to UK group trading director working across both agencies. He will be responsible for leading negotiations across the Group, although there will be no combined agency deals. Andy Roberts continues as the buying director at Starcom Motive, while Matt Blackborn has been handed the role at Starcom MediaVest.

Cranmer said that Locke and Marshall would act as elder statesmen across the group, mentoring the agencies and applying their expertise.
