Gary Brown steps down from Starcom MediaVest EMEA

LONDON - Gary Brown, the chief operating officer of Starcom MediaVest Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is stepping down from the agency.

He moved to the Starcom Motive London office two years ago from Starcom Asia to take up the newly created role of chief operating officer for the region reporting to Mark Cranmer, chief executive of Starcom for EMEA.

Brown's decision to leave comes on the heels of the departure of Graham Hall, Starcom MediaVest's first strategic planning director, who is leaving after just eight months.

Starcom Motive was recently moved into Publicis, after the French advertising network bought out Bartle Bogle Hegarty's 51% stake to sit alongside MediaVest, which was recently rebranded in the UK as Starcom MediaVest in line with the rest of the world.

The management line-up of the two companies in the UK has, however, remained the same. At the helm of Starcom Motive remains chief executive Mark Cranmer, while Jim Marshall heads up Starcom MediaVest. The two companies continue to operate separately.
