The agency becomes the fourth office in the Blue 449 network, joining shops in the UK, France and Italy. Publicis Groupe plans to open another 13 offices by the end of 2015.

Match Media is based in Sydney and employs 75, working for clients including Pfizer and Toshiba. John Preston, the chief executive of Match Media, founded the agency in 2003.

Preston will continue in his role as chief executive and James Simmons will remain the agency’s chief operating officer. He will report to Gerry Boyle, the global managing partner and Asia Pacific chairman at ZenithOptimedia.

Boyle said: "Blue 449 is a new global network comprised of like-minded entrepreneurs who are embracing technology and data as a means to delivering growth for clients.

"As a progressive digitally focused agency, Match Media is the perfect fit and we are pleased to announce their addition to the Blue 449 network."

Blue 449 launched in March when Publicis Groupe rebranded Walker Media, which it bought in November 2013, opening an office in France. The network’s Italian office opened last month.
