The specialist financial media agency has taken over the account from incumbent Arena BLM, which declined to repitch. BLM has handled the account since 2005.

Ptarmigan Media will start working with one of the largest retail fund management companies in the UK from 1 July. The account covers media planning and buying activity across Invesco Perpetual retail, institutional and international development businesses. The pitch was managed by specialist media adviser MediaSense.

Invesco, which is owned by fund manager Amvescap, had $348.2bn in assets under management at the end of March. It manages assets on behalf of private investors, intermediaries and businesses.

The company spent £2.5m on media last year, according to The Nielsen Company, but is expected to spend more in the next 12 months.

The media review follows the appointment last year of Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners to handle Invesco's creative account. DLKW's brief was to create a range of above-the-line and digital work focusing on Invesco's track record of long-term strong performance.
