Connolly's new role as business devlopment director includes external marketing and new-business growth. She replaces Amanda Phillips, who was recently promoted to director of client service.
Connolly started her career at IBM then moved on to work on the agency side at Bates, Carat and, most recently, the Carlson Marketing Group, where she has been client services director for the past two years.
Proximity chief executive Chris Thomas said: "Nicole's appointment continues to strengthen the management team at Proximity London. She has breadth of experience and strong strategic skills. I'm convinced that she will do a great job spearheading the business development of the agency."
In recent months, Proximity has won business from Early Learning Centre, Virgin Games and CITB Construction Skills and projects from existing clients such as Sainsbury's.
