Rhodes joins Proximity with 11 years' experience of direct response media management and, prior to that, 12 years' experience of brand media. She started her career in her home city of New York and then came to the UK where she first worked for BMP and Laing Henry before joining WWAV Rapp Collins in 1993.
Five years later, she left as media director to become managing director of MediaCom Direct before being appointed as managing director and founder of Starcom Motive Direct. Most recently, she has worked as a consultant and co-owner of a software company.
Rhodes said: "There is a need in the market for communications specialists that can drive the channel strategy, plan and buy the media and then track and analyse a client's investment effectively and continuously."
Proximity's media clients include Save the Children, RNLI, Shell and Sainsbury's to You.
Bennett was brought in from the Lowe Group, where he worked for five years in a range of direct marketing, integrated marketing and international roles. He first joined Lowe Direct in 2000 in the role of international relationship marketing director.
His role will be to grow Proximity's volume of international and multinational client business, and he will work alongside Mat Mildenhall, the network's chief operating officer.
The BBDO Worldwide-owned network, which was founded in 2000, currently has 42 offices worldwide -- in the past year, agencies have been launched in Japan, Korea, Hungary and Chile.
