
The programme about the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict drew 1.7 million viewers, including its outing on Channel 4+1, giving the channel a 7% share between 9pm and 10.45pm.
ITV1 drama ‘Wild At Heart’ attracted an audience of 7.3 million, a 26% share, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
‘Dancing On Ice: The Skate Off’ followed with 7.4 million viewers and 28.7% of the total viewing audience.
Other competing programmes included a repeat of detective drama ‘Wallander’ on BBC One, which picked up 2.3 million, a 9.4% share.
BBC Two’s ‘Arctic with Bruce Parry’ snapped up 3.6 million viewers and a repeat of the Jackie Chan film ‘Rush Hour’ on Channel 5 grabbed 1.2 million, a 5.3% share of the audience.
Saturday night witnessed the return of madcap comic Harry Hill with the 11th series of his multi award-winning ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ on ITV1. The clips show pulled in 5.5 million viewers, taking a 23.8% share of viewers in its 7pm slot.
There was only one appointment to view on Friday and that was the Six Nations match between England and Wales, with the English Lions trouncing the Welsh Dragons 30-17.
The match trampled over the competition in its 7.30pm slot on BBC One with a 27% share of viewers or 6.6 million viewers.
However try as the programme might, it could not beat ‘Coronation Street’ on ITV1, which recorded 8.3 million viewers and a 36.6% share of viewing.
Elsewhere in the early evening slot BBC Two documentary ‘Island Parish’ pulled in 1.8 million viewers, or a 7.7% share, while taxi cab documentary ‘Welcome to Romford’ on Channel 4 picked up 682,000 viewers and ‘Vets In Action’ on Channel 5 drew in 467,000 viewers.
