The Prince's Trust ties up with Kiss radio

LONDON - The Prince's Trust is attempting to reach young people who want to improve their local communities through a partnership with multi-platform radio station Kiss.

Kiss will promote The Prince's Trust Group Awards on air and online, in an attempt to encourage young people to apply for a share of the £2.7m the charity has on offer for community projects.

Kiss DJs and staff will be involved in the initiative and will be personally helping out at a number of projects throughout the year.

The Emap-owned radio network will provide coverage on its FM stations in London, Bristol and East Anglia and its national digital radio feed, as well as regularly posting video and photographic updates on its website .

The initiative marks the start of a planned long-term collaboration between Kiss and The Prince's Trust.

Andy Roberts, Kiss group programme director, said: "Kiss came up through the community and our activity and connections to today's community are integral to everything we do. The Group Awards are a great opportunity for us to support our young listeners and will also give the Kiss DJs and off-air teams the chance to get involved and help change things on the ground where it really matters."

Carol Homden, commercial director of The Prince's Trust, said: "These cash sums will help young people bring to life these ideas for a better community and great sense of achievement."
