Prince's Trust links with charity for online Party raffle

LONDON - The Prince's Trust has linked up with Charity Technology Trust to run an online raffle tied to Capital FM's Party in the Park to help raise money for young people in the UK.

Amid the excitement and buzz in the run-up to one of Europe's largest music events, The Prince's Trust and Charity Technology Trust have launched an online raffle giving entrants the opportunity to win VIP tickets to the capital's popular pop event.

The online raffle launches today as the tickets for the concert go on sale. Last year, tickets sold out in less than five hours and over 75% were sold online.

The online raffle will be available for entry via and until June 16 2003, giving those who were not able to buy tickets a chance to win VIP treatment.

The charity has also been offered promotion for this raffle in the email confirmations expected to go to many successful online ticket purchasers.

Sir Tom Shebbeare, chief executive of The Prince's Trust, said: "Party in the Park is a major fundraising event, which helps The Prince's Trust to get more young people's lives working, helping them to overcome barriers and fulfil their potential. This new online raffle is another great way of boosting funds to support our work."

The top prize in the online raffle is two VIP packages to enjoy 95.8 Capital FM's Party in the Park for The Prince's Trust in style. More tickets and hospitality at the concert are available for runners-up.

Peter Sweatman, CEO of Charity Technology Trust, said: "The Prince's Trust online raffle illustrates how the UK's leading charities are creatively using the internet and the preferred communication channels of the younger donor. We hope that the strong combination of a unique prize and the excellent work The Prince's Trust does for young people in the UK, will encourage concert goers to engage further with the charity by entering this raffle."

Capital FM's Party in the Park for The Prince's Trust will this year feature Atomic Kitten, Big Brovaz, Craig David, Busted, Daniel Bedingfield, Liberty X, Meatloaf, Mel C and Mis-teeq. Last year's Party In The Park raised 拢1m for The Prince's Trust to help disadvantaged young people across the UK.

The Prince's Trust is the UK's leading youth charity offering 14- to 30-year-olds opportunities to develop confidence, learn new skills, get into work and start businesses. The Trust targets people who are facing barriers in life. More than 450,000 people have taken part in The Trust's programmes since it was founded in 1976 by HRH The Prince of Wales.
