Post Office to roll out in-store consumer magazine

LONDON - A Post Office in-store magazine will be rolled out with an increased print run after a pilot was shortlisted for two awards.

The pilot edition of Sorted! magazine, which will be called Posted! when the first proper issue comes out, launched in February this year.

The pilot ran to 3m copies, but that print run will now be increased to 3.5m copies.

It has been shortlisted for Most Effective Consumer Publication (Retail) and Launch of the Year in the Association of Publishing Agencies customer publishing awards.

It was created by Conde Nast's customer publishing division and carries third-party advertising, with Post Office partners such as Vodafone and British Gas paying to appear in it.

The magazine was launched after Post Office customer research found that its 28m weekly customers needed to know more about the range of services on offer in branches. These include credit cards, gift vouchers, travel insurance and mobile phone top-ups.

There were more than 300,000 customer responses to the pilot, and a 33% increase in the number of website users.

A total of 82% of readers said it made them aware of Post Office products and services and 77% of readers acted in response to the magazine.

The customer magazines sector is now the second-fastest growing marketing medium in the UK and worth over 拢385m.

An announcement will be made shortly about how many editions of Posted! will be produced each year, though originally the plan was to publish it quarterly if the pilot was successful.

It will be available in the majority of the Post Office's 14,500 branches.
