Pollard to leave IPC for US secondment to Time Inc

LONDON – IPC Media is to lose Pippa Pollard, director of brand and business development at its TX TV division, next March when she will move to New York to start a 12-month secondment with IPC's parent company Time Inc.

Pollard has been in her current position since June 2001, when she joined IPC having already worked for the BBC, Procter & Gamble and in strategy consultancy. She also stepped up to cover for IPC TX managing director Philippa Brown's maternity leave in the first half of 2004.

Over the last three years, Pollard has overseen the relaunch of TV & Satellite Week, the launch of Soaplife as a fortnightly magazine and the return to circulation growth for the UK's biggest-selling consumer magazine What's on TV.

According to Pollard: "I'm really looking forward to learning from the largest magazine publisher in the US, as well as sharing the experience and expertise that I have gained during my time at IPC TX with our American colleagues."

Pollard will be seconded to the strategic planning department of Time in New York, working for senior vice-president of strategic planning Maurice Edelson for one year from March 2005.

Brown said: "I'll be sad to see Pippa go from TX but this is a fabulous opportunity for her to further her career."
