The top teams from the tournament, which ran from September through to March, have descended on the stadium to battle it out across the U12, U13, U14 and U15 categories.

The winning teams in each category will take home a coveted PlayStation Schools Cup trophy. On the first day (18 May) five winning teams were crowned, and another five winners are set to be determined today (19 May).

In between games, competitors and members of the crowd are able to use PlayStation’s gaming pods on the concourse, and branded bam bam sticks, giant foam hands and t-shirt cannons are being distributed to the crowd.

Celebrity footballer Aaron Ramsey presented the trophies on day one, and Andros Townsend is also expected to make an appearance. Winners of the Virtual Gaming Championship, which runs alongside the tournament, will also be crowned over the three days.

Brand experience agency Circle is involved in activating PlayStation’s sponsorship of the entire campaign, from the initial ‘tie of the round’ matches to the finals.

Claire Stokes, managing director and founder at Circle said: "New this year was the introduction of live streaming, with 5,000 viewers tuning in each day to the multi-camera HD coverage and professional commentary on the PlayStation Schools’ Cup website and YouTube channel.

"It’s been the biggest and best PlayStation® School’s Cup Festival and never fails to be one of our favourite events to work on. It’s vital that a partnership feels authentic and adds value to both the brands involved and the fans – and this is the perfect example of that."

Fergal Gara, managing director, Sony Computer Entertainment UK added: "We are so pleased at the impact our partnership with the ESFA has had on grassroots football. The aim has been to provide more children with a competitive platform to showcase their skills and a give them a chance to experience the pride of representing their schools in a national competition.

"We also wanted this to be an unforgettable experience for supporters too. Away from the on-the-pitch action there was a number of activities for them to enjoy."

More than 100,000 school children took part in the 2014/15 tournament.
