PistonHeads said the figures show it is more popular with the online motoring community than competitors iMotor, carmagazine.co.uk and Whatcar.com.
The increase has been put down to several factors, including a resurgence in the used car market, increased word of mouth between car enthusiasts, and external brand development.
Stuart Forest, PistonHeads publishing director, said no other motoring brand offered access to such a large community of serious, enthusiastic and highly engaged readers.
He added: "Our plan for the future is one of gradual evolution rather than revolution. We have a content strategy that works well. While we'll continue to take advantage of technical developments in areas such as social networking and video, the fundamentals of what PistonHeads does won't change, as they are already proven to be successful."
PistonHeads.com is owned by Haymarket, publisher of Media Week.
