The launch night party was organised by Sue Uings, Mackintosh’s former head of marketing, and Zafferano was tasked with creating a vibrant Vietnamese street food market for guests, which included James Corden, Eddie Redmayne, Graham Norton, Julian Fellows and the entire London cast of Miss Saigon.
As guests watched a firework display over the River Thames, Zafferano served a selection of authentic Vietnamese street food dishes including summer rice paper rolls and mini bahn mi baguettes.
Following the fireworks and a helicopter flypast, the street food stalls opened serving ‘woked to order' pad Thai and salad noodle boxes while an ‘American Dream BBQ’ served sliders, fried chicken and mac ’n’ cheese.
Zafferano staff wore authentic costumes from the show including ao dai silk dresses, GI uniforms and star-spangled bikinis.
Joanna Moody, creative director at Zafferano, said: "The event was six months in the planning and was a huge team effort working together with Sue Uings to produce a truly memorable event."
