In pictures: Virgin Sport hosts taster session ahead of fitness festival

Virgin Sport hosted a mini-festival head of the launch of its Hackney Festival of Fitness, to get the local community moving together.

The 'taster session' was to prove that working out can be fun and is always inclusive; the event featured Chasing Lights Collective founder Chevy Rough giving training tips and drills on how to run expertly. Fat Buddha Yoga held bite-sized yoga sessions for all abilities, alongside Drumworks who provided the soundtrack. The ‘taster session’ aimed to put the Hackney community at the heart of the event and showcases the potential of social sport ahead of the event itself.

The Virgin Sport Hackney Festival of Fitness on 30 April aims to be a momentum-fuelled day full of challenging fun. .

The day will feature the Hackney Half-Marathon, a new 5.5k run (with a buy one get one ticket option so you can bring a friend), and free fitness and yoga classes throughout the day on the Hackney Marshes.  The festival also celebrates the Hackney host community, with local entertainers, live artwork installations, bands, DJs and some of East London’s best food and drink.
