In pictures: Sir Bruce Forsyth receives EVCOM accolade

Industry association EVCOM presented television personality Sir Bruce Forsyth, Lord Digby Jones and Sir Alan Parker with Fellowship Awards on Tuesday (7 October) at the House of Lords in London.

In recognition of their contributions to the communications industries, a special lunch was hosted by Lord Palumbo, with awards presented to recipients by Marco Forgione, EVCOM chief executive, Dale Parmenter, managing director of DRP and EVCOM chair and Des Good of Grosvenor Film and EVCOM director of Fellowship.

Parker, chairman of business communications business Brunswick, has worked on a wide range of assignments, acts as senior consultant on many of the firm’s retained accounts and takes an active role in special project work.

Jones is also minister of state for UK Trade & Investment and has concentrated on the business of promoting Britain across the world, while Forsyth has spent eight decades in showbusiness and has previously been awarded an OBE, CBE and a Knighthood for his services to the entertainment industry.

Forgione said: "The inaugural EVCOM Fellowship Awards continue the tradition of our industry to celebrate innovative, visionary and outstanding achievement in communication. Our Fellows are exemplars of the power of communication and join our phenomenal community.

"The Fellowship lunch is a clear testament to the leadership role EVCOM provides the communication sector."

The event, sponsored by CTN Communications, was attended by 120 professionals from the the government, as well as the arts and media industries, and included a drinks reception followed by an awards presentation and a lunch.
