The event, which is set to run until 18 July, will give wannabe racing drivers the chance to try out a full-sized simulator and speed around the Asian track in the middle of Canada Place shopping centre.
Agencies XYZ and Fishburn worked together on the activation, coming up with the design for the stand based on the dual brief of housing the F1 simulator and providing a representation of Singapore Airlines' business class lounge for VIP guests.
The fastest lap will win a luxury trip for two to the airline-sponsored Singapore Grand Prix in September. The prize includes business class flights, accommodation for four nights, grandstand tickets for the race and entry to the Podium Lounge hospitality area after the event.
The activation will open between 10am and 7.30pm so that City workers can compete with each other out of the office. Places can be pre-booked online, however, Singapore Airlines PPS and KrisFlyer members can jump the queue.
From midday today, Formula One driver Max Chilton will make a special appearance with sports broadcaster Natalie Pinkham and set a lap time around the circuit.
