In pictures: Nokia Lumia Live session held in abandoned tube station

PR agency Mission selected the disused Aldwych London Underground station as the venue for its latest Nokia Lumia Live Session last night (19 May).

London-based electric soul band Years & Years headlined the evening on a make-shift stage in the foyer of the station, which is located near the Strand in central London. The audience was made up of press, fans and competition winners.

The venue, which closed as a working part of the Underground network in 1994, has since been used as a film location and tour destination for train enthusiasts.

Mission selected the destination to promote Nokia’s free mobile music service, Nokia MixRadio, which will stream music without a wifi connection. Guests were given the opportunity to try the service for themselves as they entered the station.

The Lumia Live Sessions tour is being run in conjunction with new music website La Blogotheque. The first session, which featured Brit award-winner Ella Eyre, on 29 March.
