The shop, which has been named ZSL Living Conservation, has planned a number of ‘pop-up conservation’ events that will take place on at 1pm and 6pm on Thursdays.

Among a number of ‘surprise speaker’ sessions, conservationists such as conservation biologist Nisha Owen and UK and Europe conservation programme co-ordinator Joanna Barker are confirmed to lead events.

The six-week pop-up will also act as a retail space for London Zoo. Alongside branded merchandise, a number of exclusive ranges will be sold in the store, including exclusive products from fashion designer Elizabeth Emmanuel.

The shop will also join in with the Carnaby Street Eat festival on 20 July with a face-painting stall.

Money raised from the Carnaby Street outlet will go towards a £5.7m project to help the endangered Asian lion, which includes plans for a new state-of-the-art breeding centre and experience at the zoo.
