The installation, following a successful , has been led by M&C Saatchi PR and celebrates a new wave of Italian culture and creativity.
Special guests included fashion photographer Miles Aldridge and girlfriend model Caitlin Curran, model and IT girl Robin Pawloski and actress Gabriella Hersham, as well as fashion designers Arthur Arbesser and Simone Rainer.
Highlights from the evening included a range of canapés created by Michelin-starred chefs the Costardi brothers, including ‘spaghetti Western’ consisting of deep-fried spaghetti with a tomato sauce; duck wraps; potato cod fish mantecato; a veal pate on toast with edible flowers; and ‘rosso Valentino’, a tomato and herb carnaroli rice risotto.
Sweeter dishes included La Dolce Vita – a white chocolate, basil meringue and a raspberry and strawberry coulis - and Bianco Rosso e Verdone, which consisted of a chocolate and chestnut cake served with cream.
Gerry Calabrese of London bar The Hoxton Pony created cocktails infused with Peroni Nastro Azzurro such as The Lonely Tenor - inspired by the Three Tenors - incorporating peppers, green Tabasco and tequila. The Pistachio Pin Up contained pistachio syrup and fresh pink grapefruit.
DJ Riva Starr provided music on his decks throughout the night, while Italian furniture designers Arper and Natuzzi supplied furniture, and technology and communications provider EE installed wi-fi throughout the house.
