Chelsea Football Club manager José Mourinho, the new Jaguar UK ambassador, was joined by a line-up of British celebrities to see the new sports car up-close. The event was organised by Concerto Live with the help of agency The Brooklyn Brothers.

It was hosted by Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director Jeremy Hicks, and the vehicle was presented to an audience of prospective customers, Jaguar brand ambassadors and celebrity guests including musicians Mistajam and Example, Olympic Gold medal winner Anthony Joshua and BBC sports presenter Gary Lineker.

During a staged interview, Mourinho was asked what his team thought of the new car, to which he replied: "How can this old man drive such a cool car?"

The F-Type Coupé UK debut opened with an exclusive screening of the new Jaguar ‘Rendezvous’ advert, directed by Oscar-winner Tom Hooper and starring actors Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong.

The advert is the latest offering in Jaguar’s British Villains campaign and made its world premiere during the broadcast of US sporting event the Super Bowl.

Hicks said: "I am really excited to be officially presenting the new F-Type Coupé in the UK for the first time. This sports car is as important to the Jaguar brand as it is spectacular to drive."

Nick Robinson, managing director at Concerto Live, said: "The dramatic introduction of the F-Type Coupé was achieved in a carefully choreographed process by utilising film shot for Jaguar by world-renowned director Tom Hooper. The vehicle was concealed in a switchable glass box built into the main set, which then changed from an opaque screen showing high definition footage to totally transparent at the flick of a switch to reveal the vehicle.

"Simultaneously both sides of the set were raised with a further two cars driven to the front of the stage to complete the stunning effect."
