In pictures: Inside Sonos' London studio

Audio tech brand Sonos has selected London as the home of its new permanent branded venue for both artists and audiences.

Following in the footsteps of the Sonos Studios LA launch in 2012, the Shoreditch space opened to the public last weekend (25-27 September).

The two-storey warehouse comprises a concert space, listening rooms, work stations and a café. It was previously a printworks and catering kitchen, and has been redeveloped by Brinkworth Design.

Sonos has created the studio to connect artists and audiences through music, art and technology, and inspire new collaborations and creations. While not available for private hire, the venue will host its own rolling programme of events and exhibitions.

The programme will kick off on Friday (2 October) with the two-day New Music Industry & Hack Day, featuring singer songwriter Imogen Heap and presented by The Guardian Live.

Sonos, Domino Publishing and Wolf & Diva will follow this with photography exhibition A Portrait of British Songwriting. This will feature its own programme of panel discussions, Q&As and live music, and will stay in situ until 25 October.

Tom Panton, head of Sonos Studio London, said: "London was a natural choice, taking into account how much it influenced music, we wanted somewhere busy, a place that works in the daytime where the people we want to speak to are right on the doorstep. It has to have a real community feel."
