In pictures: Highlights from the Event Awards 2014

More than 700 event professionals headed to Troxy in east London last night (2 October) to celebrate the industry in 1920s style.

Donned in flapper dresses and three-piece suits, guests entered the art deco-style venue on a red carpet flanked with paparazzi provided by event sponsor George P Johnson. They were then ushered to a photobooth for another few snaps before entering the main venue space.

Dance entertainment company Swing Patrol kicked off the 1920s theme with a swing performance before guests took their seats. Yasmin Arrigo, editor-in-chief of Event, took to the stage to welcome the audience and reveal Event’s new brand.

Guests dined on three courses provided by caterer Zafferano ahead of the awards. Overall, 24 trophies were handed out, with agencies Steely Fox and W taking away four awards for their experiential event Hendrick’s Carnival of Knowledge, including the Grand Prix.

After the awards finished, guests danced to rock and pop classics from band The Lionels. Cirque le Soir rounded off the night with a mix of vintage-style risqué performances.

Other suppliers at the event included Special EFX, which provided the new-look trophies, design studio First Image, crewing company Gallowglass, Stage Electrics, Media Powerhouse, speaker agency JLA and Jam Staffing.
