The 60-camera bullet rig, which was installed within the event space at the Royal Opera House, was used by guests such as Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame, as well as actors Sam Claflin and Chris O’Dowd.
Attendees were able to step into the circular space to create 270-degree matrix-style images of themselves frozen in action. The resulting images were posted to social media in real time, enabling guests to share their videos online.
The rig operates by firing cameras simultaneously so that they capture multiple images at once. It then combines the content with branded video footage to create ‘frozen in time’ moving content of those involved.
The rig is available in various sizes, from a 360-degree variant complete with 100 cameras, to a smaller version comprising 10 cameras.
Michelle Russell, events director at GQ said: "The Rig added a new element to the awards. It was very well received and helped us create even more buzz from the night via social media as the bullet rig videos were shared by guests using the event hashtag #GQAwards."
Jerome Mass, director at The Flash Pack added: "The Rig was very well received – both on the night and on social media. The video footage of Emilia Clarke has already been viewed over two thousand times on the GQ Facebook page proving that the Rig creates very sharable and eye-catching content for any event."
